The Thames 2019 racing season kicked off in earnest on a chilly first Saturday of the year with the County Championships. The Thames Ladies won a great team silver at the Surrey Championships held in Lloyd Park. Katy Hedgethorne led the team home in 6th with Nathalie Seymour 11th, Rebekah Edgar 19th and Victoria Barthelmess 29th making up the scoring team and they were well supported by Claire Altmann 39th, Vikki Filsell 64th and Jess Davies 66th.
The Men were a decent 5th in the team competition with James Hoad running well for 6th, James McMullan was 23rd, Neil Chisholm 27th, James Meiklejohn 44th, Andy Weir 54th and Tom Greenwood was the sixth scorer in 61st backed up by Nic Gould 100th and Ed Catmur 103rd. Around the other Counties there were impressive top 10 finishes for Paddy Roddy (5th at Warwickshire and Worcestershire) and Jim Allchin (6th at Kent).
