Thames hosted their annual Parkland Relays event in Richmond Park. A great success, 100 teams enjoyed wonderful weather and after-race catering at the Clubhouse.
Wednesday 13th June saw another successful hosting of the Parkland Relays in Richmond Park. We have received a lot of positive feedback from the clubs who ran and many thanks go to Simon Molden, Andy Weir, Maureen Poole and everyone else who helped out. There were good showings from Thames teams with the Ladies (Jess Davies, Claire Altmann, and Sarah Randles) and the Men (Simon Wurr, Paul Cheetham, Gordon Pearce, Simon Molden) both on the podium in third and second respectively. The Men’s B team (Tom Greenwood, Rob Clarke, Joe Gale, Nic Gould) were 15th and the Ladies Bs (Andrea Stehlikova, Anri Cohen, Diane Mills) 19th. The Ladies Vets team (Anna Garnier, Annette Gould, Vikki Filsell) were 18th Ladies team (6th Ladies Vets) and there was a fine achievement from the Johnson family (Luke, Jeremy, Michael, Andrew) who closed a family team in 48th. Fastest Thames man of the night was Simon Wurr in 15.03 and for the ladies it was Sarah Randles in 17.21 (3rd fastest overall). Great running all, full results are on the website. We then hosted the post-race refreshments at the Clubhouse for the first time which worked very well, with everyone enjoying the outdoor curry.
