The Thames men’s and women’s teams each had an excellent day out at the London Championships this weekend, with both taking home team bronze.
Over the punishing hills of Hampstead Heath, Ruby Woolfe was the first female athlete home for Thames, herself claiming an individual bronze medal. She was followed by Beth Murray (6th), with Claire Altmann (46th) and Daisy Irving-Hyman (49th) closing out the scoring team. The quartet were rewarded with a comfortable third place behind Belgrave and London Heathside, and backed up by six other Thames ladies who completed the team.
In the men’s event, MacGregor Cox rounded off a busy week with an impressive 4th place, finishing just outside the individual prizes. Paddy Roddy (11th) was not far behind him, backed up by Josh Carr (14th) and James Hoad (21st), to round out the scoring team. With all four scorers comfortably finishing in the top 30, the gents were only one point short of challenging London Heathside for team silver.
