We had a tremendous turnout for 2020’s Dash For The Splash 10k. The weather was dry, the course at its wettest, and the Splash at almost thigh high levels. A really successful weekend for Thames – big thanks to all who helped with the organisation and congratulations to our 15 THH runners who ran round.

120 run December’s Second Sunday 5
Sixteen Saltires ran round in a bumper field of over 120. The race was won by Pat Wright and Chloe Baker from Ranelagh and TVH with David Symons and Andrea Stehlikova first home for Thames. It was pleasure to see so many from Fulham along too. Click the headline for full Thames results.
2019 Oxford-Cambridge University Cross-Country Races
On Saturday 7th December, Cambridge took the honours in both the ladies’ and gentlemen’s races for the first time since 2013. In the 44th Ladies’ Race, the anticipated very close race materialised. The Light Blues had the power at the top end of the race with four of the first six home; however, Oxford’s greater strength-in-depth meant that they packed the middle order from seventh to 11th and the result was in doubt until the very end. In the end, it was Cambridge’s top-end strength that won the day and they narrowly squeezed home by 39 points to 41. This was the closest team result since 2000 when Oxford won by a point.
London Champs 2019
7 Ladies and 7 gents made the journey to the iconic Parliament Hill for the London Champs. Blackheath and Bromley Harriers celebrate 150 years!
Congratulations to Blackheath and Bromley for reaching their 150 years. They celebrated in fine style with an Anniversary Dinner at the House of Commons. Despite being a relatively young club by Thames standards (sorry couldn’t resist…), Blackheath & Bromley have achieved great success over the years and they continue to make great contributions to their local community and particularly the wider UK Athletics community.

For the first time in recent years Thames were represented at the National 4 stage road relays held at Sutton Park, Birmingham on the 6th October.
