Junior parkrun Weekly Roundup - 29/1/17
Seb Cockerell came 3rd at Wimbledon Park in 8m 33s, Lucy Molden 24th at Surbiton in 14m 07s and Izzy and Ben Jones came 19th and 51st respectively at Guildford in 11m 29s and 13m 24s

Southern Cross-Country Championships (men), Parliament Hill - 28/1/17
Thames Men were a little weakened by various injuries and ailments. Nevertheless the team pulled through to 23rd out of 69. James Chettle was leading runner in 53rd. Simon Wurr came through for 107th with Gordon Pearce, 115th, tracking not far behind. Your Captain laboured a little for 244th and the team were ably supported by Richard Hewitt, 511th, Iain Sheridan, 568th and Alun Johns in 862nd.

Southern Cross-County Championships (ladies), Parliament Hill - 28/1/17
The Ladies put in a gritty performance to finish 16th team out of 63. Leading runner was Sarah Hazel, finishing in 76th. Tracking her not far behind was Claire Altmann in 87th and Liz Stavreski in 89th. They were ably supported by Jo Davies, 163rd, Vikki Filsell, 224th, Jess Davies 294th and Ilona Kriauzaite in 319th.

Junior parkrun Weekly Roundup - 22/1/17
At Wimbledon Park, Rupert Ferguson finished 2nd in 08:41 and Seb Cockerell just a whisker behind him in third. Barney Higgins finished 94th in 14:38. At Surbiton, Lucy Molden finished 65th in 14:57.
36th Box Hill Fell Race - 21/1/17
James McMullan led from the start and was inside the course record with 2 miles to go when he took a particularly nasty tumble. Disorientated, bloody but unbowed James carried on to take the title in 54m 24s a full 3 minutes clear of second place.
Vets AC Cross-Country Championships, Wimbledon Common - 21/1/17
In the ladies' race, Liz Stavreski took the honours in 29m 19s and she was followed in second by Vikki Filsell in 31m 29s.

Junior parkrun Weekly Roundup - 15/1/17
At Wimbledon Park, Seb Cockerell won in 08:37. At Surbiton, Lucy Molden finished 39th in 14:09.
Men's Surrey League Division 1, Round III, Mitcham Common - 14/1/17
Thames' men fielded 20 runners at Mitcham Common, and with good performances at the sharp end and close packing ran out in 3rd place. First back was James McMullan, channelling all the strength from his marathon training to finish 6th. Richard Kowenicki held off new Thames member, Martin Alvarez-Espinar, in a sprint for the line in 17th and 18th. Howard Bristow, using the race as a spring-board back to fitness followed in 22nd. Good packing from Neil Chisholm (30th), Gordon Pearce (38th), Martin Shore (41st), your Captain (47th), Chris Rye (62nd) and Richard Ollington (67th) ensured a strong finish. Thames are now 6th in the table and less than 55 points from 5th. James McMullan currently ranks 2nd on the overall individual leader-board. The battle for scoring places was hotly contested. Running well to bolster the team were Brian Thursby-Pelham (91st), Simon Baines (101st), Ed Catmur (102nd), Andy Weir (119th), Iain Sheridan (135th), Rory Spicer (154th), John Clark (157th) and Andy Robinson (186th). Many congratulations to Martin Alvarez-Espinar, Richard Ollington and Rory Spicer who were competing in their first ever race for Thames.
Ladies' Surrey League Division 1, Round III, Lloyd Park - 14/1/17
The ladies finished a fine 3rd at Lloyd Park, a mere 32 points off second. First out of the blocks was Katy Hedgethorn, finishing an excellent 6th. Antonia Burt was not far back in 12th and Liz Stavreski (33rd), Claire Altmann (36th) and Joanna Shillington (55th) closed the team. The team are 5th in the league with one match left but have reduced the gap to 4th to under 60 points. Katy currently ranks in 3rd place on the cumulative individual honours table. Such was the depth of talent, the Ladies also put out a B team. Vikki Filsell was first back in 73rd, followed by Jo Davies (79th), Anna Garnier (87th), Jess Davies (135th) and Annette Gould (139th), with the team now ranking 5th B team overall. There were good performances also from Ilona Kriauzaite (143rd) and Jo Winn-Smith (206th).

At Wimbledon Park, Imogen Cockerell finished 15th in 10:26 and Barney Higgins finished 62nd in 13:44. At Surbiton, Lucy Molden finished 75th in 14:36.
Surrey Cross-Country Championships, Lloyd Park (ladies) - 7/1/17
Liz Stavreski was lead runner for Thames, finishing in a solid 27th. She was followed by Anna Garnier in 50th, Jess Davies in 105th and Jo Winn-Smith in 118th with the team finishing in 13th.
Surrey Cross-Country Championships, Lloyd Park (men) - 7/1/17
James McMullan led the way for the men, finishing 9th and qualifying to represent Surrey in the Inter Counties. Showing his marathon training is taking him into a rich vein of form, Martin Shore came through for 24th. Your Captain was with him at the end of the first lap, but as he has done so many times in the 18 years I have been racing him, Martin switched up the gears and left me for dust (or rather mud I suppose). Despite the lard, your Captain finished in 48th, followed by Brian Thursby-Pelham in 57th, Andy Weir in 73rd, Ed Catmur in 85th, Anthony Doolittle in 100th and Iain Sheridan closed in 102nd. The team finished a firm 7th out of 16 teams.
